Melanotan II is an analogue of the peptide hormone alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (a-MSH) that induces skin tanning. It was originally developed by the University of Arizona in the 1980’s to treat people who were intolerant to the sunlight. Melanotan II plays a role in melanogenesis in protecting the skin from UV light.
Melanotan II can also be used in weight management by reducing food intake, decreasing total fat mass by lipid mobilization, energy regulation and improving insulin sensitivity to help with glucose homeostasis. Furthermore, it has a positive effect on libido due to its aphrodisiac properties.
Administration/Dose:
Inject 0.15ml daily SubQ for 1 – 2 weeks until desired tan has been reached then 0.25mL twice weekly for maintenance. About a 4 month supply.
